Steyn City sits an hour from the Pretoria studio but operates on a scale that suits Skydouny's model — generous stands, considered architecture, owners who want a hand-built result. The studio is currently in conversation with Steyn City families and accepts commissions there on the same three-or-four-homes-a-year cadence.

Steyn City families typically arrive with one of two briefs: a flagship home that's intended to last a generation, or a more compact secondary residence designed around hospitality. Skydouny's model — architect, contractor and project manager under one roof — is well suited to either, particularly when the family wants a single accountable studio rather than a chain of subcontractors.

Skydouny's foreman moves with the project. Long-standing trades who have worked together for years travel from Pretoria to site weekly, and the principal is on the build for the same site visits as on any Pretoria commission. The book stays small on purpose; Steyn City is added to the calendar, not run in parallel with other intake.
